Parent Support Training

Becoming a Cuidiú Parent Supporter means you will join a 400 strong community of Cuidiú volunteers who have been helping parents throughout Ireland and beyond for 40 years.  Our interactive and engaging course offers you the opportunity to learn how to actively listen, communicate effectively, learn about your own communication and learning style in the context of your own experience as a parent and much, much more.  The basic Parent Support Training is all about listening and counselling skills.    

To introduce new Parent Supporters to the Cuidiú Community, we usually run two Basic Training Course annually, courses take place online over four separate Saturdays (three online and the last day in person where possible) over a four month period (from 09:30-16:30).  For our existing Parent Supporters, we will run several online upskilling / debriefing / advanced training days each year.  

Ideally, applicants should have been Cuidiú Members for 6 months or more.  The Basic course costs €325 to attend - the first €75 admin fee is to be paid by the individual, with the remainder being covered by Branch funds.  Any Branches who do not have funds to cover costs are welcome to conact us on parentsupportpanel@cuidiu.ie and we will be happy to work together on a plan to raise the necessary funds.
