Other Cuidiú Events

Other Cuidiú EventsCuidiú has a rich social side apart from our education in antenatal and breastfeeding. Activities range from baby and toddler coffee mornings, to children’s play days and activities and on to adult only social evening events and much more.... There are lots of opportunities for members of Cuidiú to meet, have fun, socialise and make lifelong friends.

Education Events – Many of our branches will hold information evenings or short courses. These usually cover parenting issues or relevant topics like nutrition, milestones of development, miscarriage, first aid, parenting tips etc. Speakers will be invited to a branch and members and friends can attend. Some branches host Parenting Courses each year.

All these events are branch dependant and how often they are run often depends on the volunteers available to organise them. Contact your local branch for more information.

Social Events – Branches will often hold social evenings and talks of interest. These can vary hugely but usually have a fun, relaxing or social aspect to them. These are generally adult orientated and can vary from meditation, yoga, homeopathy, decluttering, desert nights, recipe swapping, ‘take-away’ nights. Many branches also have Cuidiú Book clubs and our Branch Christmas parties are perfect for committees to let the hair down and have fun.

All these events are branch dependant and how often they are run often depends on the volunteers available to organise them. Contact your local branch for more information.

Cuidiú Week – This is a chance for local branches and groups to celebrate Cuidiú and try promote awareness of Cuidiú to the wider community. The week is run during May each year and usually branches and groups put on extra activities to promote Cuidiú and have some fun too. Branches invite local ‘support professionals’ to these events to educate them in what services Cuidiú do for the community on a voluntary basis.

Contact your local branch for more information.

National Members Conference – Each year Cuidiú hold their National Members Conference. The venue changes, a branch offers to help organise the conference and then council will organise it in a hotel near their branch. It is great publicity and a fund raising opportunity for a branch.

This is a weekend where ‘paid up members’ can meet, network, share ideas and strategies and enjoy the social side of Cuidiú too.  Each year a ‘Conference Theme’ is chosen and the weekend activities will centre around that.

Friday evening members arrive, relax, catch-up with other Cuidiú members and take a breather from daily life.

On Saturday, there is usually a carefully chosen key-note speaker invited to speak to all delegates. This is followed by workshops, informational sessions and training opportunities for attendees to attend. We have a Gala dinner in the evening where we put on the high heels, let down the hair and have an entertaining adult evening.

Sunday morning we promote a strong sense of Cuidiú in the sessions, which re-enforces volunteers’ sense of being supported by other Cuidiú members and our branches.

All through the weekend there are extra activities such as yoga, relaxation, craft and entertainment organised by the hosting branch. The venue chosen is usually a hotel of good quality food and accommodation. The spa may be used in between our interesting sessions leaving attendees feeling looked after,  and feeling pampered physically so they go home feeling satisfied, happy and relaxed.
